Hello Swimmies! It occurred to me that you might be able to find out how the squid felt about this experiment (please Google Cypress Hill Squid) . Was it torture? Or was it a way for the squid to experience music, since it doesn't have ears? I hate animal experimentation, especially when the reason for it simply seems to be "we just want to know how it works." But also was a way to share music with another species, that might not have previously had the opportunity. I'm conflicted.

hello human person! first, if it had been kenny G. or the new CS&N album, yes, it would have been torture, but it was a cypress hill classic! second, we are glad you are conflicted, for this shows you are a decent human person, who understands that all creatures deserve to be treated with respect and some degree of autonomy and not just fooled around with because you can. fortunately in this experiment the following conditions were met: suction electrodes are not painful and are non-invasive, and the musical selection was not chris brown.
as for the squid in question, we asked about the experience and received the following response: WTF WAS THAT? OMJ DID YOU HEAR THAT? HOLY CARP! DID I JUST EVOLVE THE ABILITY TO HEAR? WAIT, HEY, COME BACK HERE! I WANT SOME MORE OF THAT STUFF! DO YOU HAVE ANY BEASTIE BOYS? MOS DEF?? WYCLEF JEAN???
in other words, the upshot was to turn squid into fans of hiphop. good job, scientists! you’ve accomplished exactly nothing yet again, and meanwhile the polar icecaps are melting and monoculture is threatening the entire human species, but OMJ NOW SQUID DIG KELIS AND BLU CANTRELL!!! darwin would be so proud of you!
