okay, the british human persons’ government is threatening to violate international law and the terms of the vienna convention and invade the ecuadorian embassy to kidnap julian assange.  so in short, an australian who is on ecuadorian soil is being threatened with kidnap to extradict to sweden where he has not been charged with anything so he can be shunted off to the U.S. to face the death penalty.  which, btw, is what he would face in the U.S., because the only reason to extradict him would be on trumped up espionage charges.

we cannot stress how unprecedented this is.  maybe it is because ecuador is a tiny little country so britain thinks it can push them around?  maybe it is because the olympics are finally over so they think no one is paying attention to them?
